Ruahine House End 14 Year Trophy Wait
After a long 14 year wait, Ruahine have finally lifted the Freyberg
house trophy at senior Prize Giving this year. The trophy was last won by Ruahine when
All Black Mark Ranby was a student leader of the house. Ironically, current student leader of Ruahine,
Andy Kruy also broke Ranby's old Long jump record this year.

The purpose of the night was to recognise the academic, sporting and cultural achievements of students in front of over 1500 friends and family. Interspersing the awards were performances from members of Te Piringa - regional and national Kapa Haka champions, the senior stage band, Pacifika Fusion and Polyfest group, Violin, Clarinet and Bass soloists, and a reunited Barbershop quartet (see video).
