Interhouse Swimming Sports

House Chants, House colours and House pride were all on display this year in the first of the school's inter-house competitions - Swimming Sports. National age-grade champions dived into the Freyberg Community pool alongside occasional swimmers making up the 300 students who took part in this event.

P.E teacher Ms Maxey was pleased with the student behaviour and enthusiasm throughout the day, however didn't want to talk about the student-staff relay. For the first time in a number of years, the staff team was beaten by the best of the student swimmers. "Third place wasn't last, but it wasn't where we placed last year." said the disappointed teacher.

Initial Results show Manawatu edging out Ruahine for the lead, with Tararua and Kapiti in third and fourth. However these placings could still change when participation rates are considered.
