Senior Ball 2010 - An Oriental Affair

500 students and 52 staff members donned their ball gowns and suits for Freyberg’s Senior Ball 2010, held on Saturday night at the Novatel Hotel.

The students arrived in style to their oriental themed ball to the sound of Japanese drumming, with transportation methods including limos, trucks, hot rods and a convertible.

Staff and students danced and partied throughout the evening to the melodious music supplied by former Freyberg band: The Nerines. A Chinese Dragon helped kick off the dancing as students enjoyed the DJ, as well as enjoying a range of snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.

Principal Peter Brooks was delighted with student behaviour citing the head security guard when he said, ‘it didn’t really feel like work as there weren’t any problems to sort out, we’re just standing around doing nothing.’ Meanwhile the teachers joined the dance floor – dancing with the students until 11pm when the party ended.
