Mischievious Dance Group Steal $1000 and Trophy

DanceNZMade's Inter-School competition saw rookie Freyberg group MzGVS (pronounced 'mischievious') not only win their grade but also the overall competition including it's $1000 major prize.

Competing against over 30 groups from schools in Lower Hutt, Manawatu, Hawkes Bay and even Taupo, MzGVS not only won their division, but also the overall prize. This was a notable feat for the group's student choreographers Sam Whittaker and Rodale Alvarez. The tophy heist also takes on a special shine for new members of the group hadn't danced in front of an audience before, let alone 1000 people in Palmerston North's Regent theatre.

An excited Acting Head of Dance, Gaylene Edwards, was delighted with the students' achievements, especially considering Freyberg groups came both first and second in the senior competition.
